Arrival & A Gentle Beginning
Arrive in Calgary and slip straight into vacation mode with an included airport shuttle. Settle into your hotel for the next two nights—a modern, spacious property near the airport with large rooms, comfortable beds, and an easy, relaxed atmosphere perfect for recovering from travel. Take time to unwind, explore the nearby walking paths, or simply enjoy the calm before the adventure begins. In the evening, meet your guide and fellow travelers for a warm, friendly welcome that sets the tone for the days ahead. With no rushing and no scheduled activities beyond settling in, you can rest deeply and let the anticipation build for tomorrow’s first steps into the Rockies.
Banff Valley & Mountain Perspectives
Depart Calgary and head west as the first peaks rise sharply from the plains, welcoming you into Banff National Park. Ride the Banff Gondola to the summit of Sulphur Mountain, where sweeping views stretch across the Bow Valley and surrounding ranges. Back below, visit the rushing waters of Bow Falls before enjoying free time in downtown Banff to explore, shop, or savor lunch at your own pace. In the afternoon, pause at the calm, mirror‑like waters of Two Jack Lake, then continue to Lake Minnewanka for a scenic cruise through a glacier‑carved valley framed by rugged peaks. As the day winds down, return to Calgary for a second comfortable night—an easy reset before the journey carries you deeper into the mountains.

Yoho Valleys & Alpine Transitions
Leave Calgary behind and make a morning stop in the mountain town of Canmore, where rugged peaks frame cozy cafés, local shops, and alpine charm. Continue west into Yoho National Park for a visit to Emerald Lake, where unreal green water mirrors forested slopes and towering stone walls. Then explore the Natural Bridge, carved by centuries of rushing water into sculpted channels of rock. A short walk brings you to Takakkaw Falls, thundering down one of the tallest cliffs in the Rockies. In the afternoon, join the Icefields Parkway and rise toward Peyto Lake, its glacier‑blue water fanning out beneath dramatic peaks in a view that stops conversation. As evening settles in, continue north to your lodge near Abraham Lake, where wide skies, quiet air, and open landscapes set the tone for a peaceful night in the wilderness.

Iconic Lakes and a Scenic Farewell
Leave Abraham Lake and follow the legendary upper Icefields Parkway to the Columbia Icefield Adventure Centre, where the day turns unforgettable. Board the massive Ice Explorer and roll onto the Athabasca Glacier, stepping onto ancient ice and tasting pure glacier water straight from the source. Then walk the cliff‑edge Skywalk Bridge, suspended above a vast glacial valley with waterfalls and peaks dropping away beneath your feet. Continue north to Athabasca Falls, where powerful water carves through narrow canyons, before reaching Jasper for a tranquil visit to Pyramid Lake. Enjoy dinner in the charming mountain town—your chance to stroll, shop, or simply savor the alpine atmosphere—before returning along the Parkway to your quiet lodge by Abraham Lake for a final star‑filled night.
Iconic Lakes and a Scenic Farewell
Depart Abraham Lake and begin your final day at the Waterfowl Lakes viewpoint, where twin turquoise lakes rest quietly beneath towering peaks. Continue south to Bow Lake, its glacier‑fed waters shimmering below Crowfoot Mountain, before arriving at Lake Louise—emerald, timeless, and framed by sheer alpine walls. Walk the shoreline, take photos, or simply stand still in one of the world’s most iconic landscapes. Then visit Moraine Lake in the Valley of the Ten Peaks, an electric‑blue jewel surrounded by dramatic summits. In the afternoon, travel back through Banff and onward to Canmore before returning to Calgary, with drop‑offs throughout the city or directly at the airport—a smooth, scenic finale to a journey filled with peaks, glaciers, and unforgettable moments.

Rooms are based on double occupancy with two queen‑size beds, and solo travelers are paired with a same‑sex roommate.
The first two nights are spent in Calgary at the Best Western Plus Port O’Call Hotel or similar, offering a comfortable and convenient base before heading into the mountains. Its location allows for an easy arrival day, a relaxed start to the journey, and a smooth transition into Banff National Park on Day 2.
The next 2 nights you'll stay near the shores of Abraham Lake, your lodge offers wide-open landscapes, mountain air, and a sense of space that’s hard to find in busier resort towns.
The lodge is simple, warm, and thoughtfully placed to complement the surrounding wilderness rather than compete with it. In summer, the days are long and bright—ideal for exploring the Icefields Parkway, nearby trails, and alpine viewpoints before returning to a calm, comfortable lodge in the evening.
